Ben's Canteen

Jubilee bank holiday weekend

We are aware that the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is the perfect time for London’s cafes, bars, restaurants, bakeries, food halls and anywhere that essentially serves food and drink, to bring out the bunting, re-write the menu, and add a few twists and shakes to their drinks menu. But if you go anywhere this weekend, we recommend that you head down to one of our favourite south-west London haunts Ben's Canteen.

Ben’s Canteen has been going from strength to strength over the last few months, working hard to really hone its sought-after British menu, and this weekend, Ben and the team have decided to run their delicious brunch every day of the weekend.

If however, the bank holiday weekend means your activity becomes more night owl than morning lark, then every day from 2pm, Ben's Canteen will be dishing up a special BBQ menu with “not a burnt sausage in sight” we have been told.

On the grill will be the mighty BC Burger (which features a slice of homemade Orkney corned beef in place of bacon), joined by mackerel, juicy dry aged rib-eye steaks and much more, including Ben's BBQ Tamworth Rib Roll.

There will also be extras to share such as Ben's Slaw, Potato Salad and Corn on the Cob, combined with a new menu of milkshakes and ice-cream sundaes. All in all, this should lead to a super tasty Jubilee weekend!
