Camden Eye

Pizza
Camden

Camden Town has a great reputation of being the epicentre of British rock music and the home of the world famous market. Soon we are going to have to add a new item to this list as The Camden Eye launches their range of soon-to-be-legendary pizzas.

The Camden Eye has long been a favourite drinking haunt for Camden kids, sitting right outside the tube station on the junction of Kentish Town Road and Camden Road. It is one of the first pubs we stumble across on a night out and the perfect place to grab a few pints before heading onward to Koko, the Electric Ballroom or the World's End. Of course, starting the night on an empty stomach is a recipe for disaster, which is where the new pizza menu comes in.

The pizzas at The Camden Eye are all cooked in the wood-fired oven and the menu promises that they are low in fat and low in calories. The staff are trained by Francesco Santocono, world champion pizza maker 2008, whose pizzas have been described by Angelina Jolie as the best she has ever had, and if it’s OK with her, then it's OK with us. The menu even includes her favourite toppings, which have been named after her: we recommend you try the 'How to Impress Angelina Jolie' (olives, goat’s cheese, walnuts, and caramelised onions). Other highlights among the ten available pizzas include the Hoisin Duck pizza (roast duck, hoi sin sauce, spring onions, and mozzarella) and the Spaniard (Serrano ham, chorizo, salami, chillies, and mozzarella).

All pizzas are £10 and the garlic and tomato bread is £5, available to be enjoyed in the newly refurbished first floor dining area and there will be a takeaway service launching early 2013. Perfect for a light bite before getting your rock on.
