The Cuban

Tapas
Camden

The Cuban is a Tapas bar and restaurant situated within the boundaries of the Stables Market section of Camden market, approximately halfway between Camden Town and Chalk Farm tube stations. Currently The Cuban is offering an exclusive deal where you can purchase nine Tapas dishes chosen by the house and a carafe of Sangria for just £16.95, so we decided to check it out.

The Cuban is, unsurprisingly, a Cuban themed bar and restaurant which serves Tapas with a hint of Havana. The nine dishes we had ranged from tapas regulars such as albondigas meatballs and a bowl of olives, to the more distinctly Cuban fried plantain chips, which were all excellent. Particular credit goes to The Cuban for providing a delicious chipotle chilli sauce to go with the quesadillas, and the sangria which accompanied the meal was very refreshing.

The staff were very accommodating and were happy to switch out one of the dishes for another when we told them that neither of us ate fish or seafood. There is even the option to go all vegetarian with the deal as well, which is very good to know. In addition to this, when they accidentally brought us chicken quesadillas instead of vegetarian ones, without even being asked the waitress brought us some new ones and left the originals there too.

The décor and music is very attractively Cuban themed, and although we didn't try them, the bar boasts 100 different kinds of rum and a whole host of cocktails, mostly rum based but with other classics alongside. However, if we had one criticism it would be that they took a little while to do everything. There weren't many other people eating and two waiters were on duty, so it perhaps should not have taken quite so long to get served.

Despite this, we were very impressed. Of course we are fans of tapas, but generally, as is also the case here, it is very easy to rack up a serious bill. The price of what was we ate would have been nearly £50 without the deal, but thanks to the deal the bill was far more manageable.

This deal represents excellent value but it's only running until 2 May, so make sure you go ahead and book while it lasts!
